Supervision
I am an integrative supervisor with training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic and existential therapy, as well as hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR.
My supervision training was undertaken at Metanoia Institute in 2009, with subsequent on-going training in various areas of supervision.
Essentially, supervision for me is about the relationship we develop together, around the work, over time. My responsibilities as a supervisor include working with you to explore your work and to facilitate your own understanding of your relationship with clients.
According to M. Carroll (1986) the Seven Tasks of Supervision are:
1. To set up a learning relationship
2. To introduce new concepts
3. To evaluate
4. To monitor professional and ethical issues
5. To counsel
6. To consult, and
7. To set up a 'learning relationship'
